Sector Focus
India's High-Growth
Investment
Themes
Infrastructure
India’s infrastructure sector is in a multi-year capex upcycle, with the market already around USD 1.35–1.5 trillion across the National Infrastructure Pipeline and related project pipeline, and projected spending through 2030 estimated at about INR 143 lakh crore, or roughly USD 1.7 trillion. Strong government capex, expanding private participation, and financing platforms such as NaBFID and NIIF are creating opportunities across roads, ports, power, urban infra, logistics, and renewable-linked transmission assets. The sector also benefits from policy tailwinds including flagship programs like Bharatmala and Sagarmala, while demand remains supported by India’s growth trajectory and significant under-penetration in transport, energy, and water infrastructure. For investors, the most attractive themes are brownfield asset monetization, project finance, structured credit, and platform consolidation in core operating assets and new-economy infrastructure.
AI, Robotics & Technology
India’s AI, robotics and internet economy is scaling rapidly, with the AI market estimated at about USD 1.6 billion in 2025 and projected to more than triple by 2027, while broader AI forecasts point to continued expansion through 2030 and beyond. The investment opportunity is strongest in enterprise software, AI infrastructure, automation, robotics, cybersecurity, fintech, healthtech, and digital consumer platforms, supported by India’s large internet user base, deep STEM talent pool, and growing startup ecosystem. Regulatory tailwinds are meaningful, led by the India AI Mission, public digital infrastructure, and government-backed compute, datasets, skilling, and startup financing initiatives, while demand is being pulled by productivity needs across manufacturing, services, and consumer businesses. For investors, the most attractive themes are early-growth venture capital, growth equity, strategic M&A, and selective project or platform financing in businesses with defensible IP, recurring revenues, and scalable technology stacks.
Renewable Energy
India’s renewable energy sector is in a strong expansion phase, with market estimates placing it at about USD 25.95 billion in 2025 and installed renewable capacity already above 39% of total power capacity, led by solar. By 2030, India is targeting 500 GW of non-fossil capacity, implying roughly 300 GW of additional renewable build-out and an investment need of about USD 200–250 billion for generation, plus another USD 250–300 billion for storage and grid integration. This creates opportunities across utility-scale solar and wind, hybrid and firm power, transmission, battery storage, module manufacturing, REIT-like platform structures, and project/structured finance for developers and infrastructure funds. Regulatory tailwinds remain strong, supported by open access, RECs, green corridors, domestic manufacturing incentives, carbon market reforms, and tighter renewable purchase obligations, while demand is being pulled by rising power consumption, peak-load stress, and the need to replace fossil heavy supply with dispatchable clean energy.
Entertainment, Gaming & Social Media
India’s entertainment, gaming and social media economy is scaling quickly, with the broader media and entertainment market estimated at about USD 30–32 billion in 2024–25 and projected to reach roughly USD 48 billion by 2030, while online gaming alone is expected to grow from about USD 1.9 billion in FY25 to USD 4.3 billion by FY30. The opportunity set spans content IP, gaming studios, esports, creator tools, ad-tech, streaming, animation/VFX, and social platforms, with monetization shifting toward in-app purchases, subscriptions, and creator-led commerce as India’s internet user base and digital engagement deepen. Regulatory tailwinds are supportive in digital infrastructure and creator monetization, though gaming remains policy-sensitive and requires disciplined compliance, while demand continues to outpace supply in premium localized content, high-quality game development, and scalable distribution across Bharat markets.
Space exploration
India’s space economy is still early-stage but scaling rapidly, with current estimates around USD 8.4–13 billion and multiple forecasts pointing to roughly USD 40–44 billion by 2030– 33, driven by satellites, launch services, earth observation, and downstream applications. The sector offers attractive investment opportunities in launch systems, satellite manufacturing, ground infrastructure, data analytics, satcom, propulsion, and space-enabled services, with expected growth in private capital, VC/PE funding, and strategic partnerships. Regulatory tailwinds are strong: the Indian Space Policy 2023 opened end-to-end participation for private players, FDI norms were liberalized, and the government has launched a dedicated INR 1,000 crore VC fund to support startups. Demand is rising faster than domestic supply capacity, creating room for new operators and component suppliers, while India’s cost advantage and deep engineering base position it to become a global manufacturing and launch hub over the next decade.
Defence
India’s defence manufacturing sector is emerging as a strategic-plus-economic growth engine, with annual defence production reaching about USD 17.5–18 billion in FY25 and the broader defence market valued roughly in the USD 18–32 billion range, depending on methodology and coverage. Multiple studies project the domestic market to expand at a double-digit CAGR through 2030, with India targeting around USD 25–30 billion of defence production and close to USD 5–6 billion in exports by end-decade, underpinned by a modernisation push and a “Make in India” policy anchor. Financing and investment opportunities span private OEMs, system-and-subsystem suppliers, MSME-tier vendors, R&D-intensive platforms, and export-oriented clusters, particularly in aerospace, missile systems, defence electronics, naval platforms, and unmanned systems. Regulatory tailwinds are rob ust, including liberalised FDI up to 74% on the automatic route, Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020, two dedicated Defence Industrial Corridors, and priority budget allocation, while demand–supply dynamics are tilted toward import substitution, localisation, and rising export potential, creating a long-cycle pipeline for project finance, growth equity, and platform–M&A mandates.
Data Centers & Ancilary industries
India’s data centre and ancillary sectors are scaling into a critical digital infrastructure backbone, with total installed capacity at roughly 1.1–1.3 GW in 2024 25, projected to reach 4–8 GW by 2030 and attract total investments of USD 30–100 billion over the decade. The data centre market is valued at approximately USD 5.0–5.4 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow to USD 12.9–22 billion by 2030, while the near market ecosystem—including power infrastructure, HVAC, liquid cooling, uninterruptible power supplies, fiber and subsea links, data centre real estate, and edge infrastructure—represents several times the core market in value and is poised for parallel expansion. Investment and financing opportunities span build to lease and REIT models, hyperscale and edge data centres, colocation platforms, turnkey infrastructure integrators, and specialized technology providers, with attractive structures including private equity, growth equity, infrastructure debt, project finance, green bonds, and strategic M&A.
Demand is being pulled by cloud adoption, AI and data intensive applications, 5G, and digital transformation, while supply is still constrained in key metros, creating long term value for disciplined capital allocators.
Pharmaceutical & Healthcare
India’s pharmaceutical and healthcare sector is a high growth, reform driven engine, with the pharma industry valued at approximately USD 29–32 billion in 2023 24 and projected to reach USD 120–130 billion by 2030, while the broader healthcare market is estimated at about USD 280–300 billion today and is expected to approach USD 450–500 billion by 2030, supported by rising healthcare access, urbanization, and an ageing population. The investment and financing opportunity set spans pharmaceuticals (generics, branded generics, patented formulations, APIs, KSMs), biotechnology, hospitals and specialty care, diagnostics, telemedicine, healthtech, medical devices, and payer platforms, with attractive structures including private equity, growth equity, venture capital, project finance, and strategic M&A.
Demand is being pulled by rising domestic healthcare access, government health coverage, and growing global outsourcing of R&D, while supply dynamics are shifting toward more compliant, integrated, and innovation led manufacturing and service ecosystems, creating long term value for disciplined capital allocators.

Our Special Situations platform focuses on stressed-asset restructurings, turnaround-financing, distressed refinancings, and event-driven opportunities—where precise timing, deep sector expertise, and bespoke structuring are critical to preserving and unlocking value.
In Private Credit, we provide flexible, non-bank debt across structured term loans, mezzanine and custom-tenor instruments targeting high-quality businesses that require tailored non-dilutive capital to fund growth, M&A or balance-sheet optimisation while remaining outside traditional public-market channels.
By combining rigorous risk-return analysis with an active, advisory-driven approach, we help clients bridge transitional phases, strengthen capital-structure resilience, and unlock new strategic pathways through fit-for-purpose debt solutions.

Real Estate
India’s real estate market is one of the country’s largest growth engines, estimated at about USD 585 billion in 2026 and projected to approach USD 970 billion by 2030, supported by urbanization, rising incomes, and continued formalization of the sector. For investors and lenders, opportunities span development financing, structured credit, redevelopment, affordable housing, and income-producing assets through REITs, with the listed REIT market already scaling meaningfully and gaining policy support for broader institutional participation. Regulatory tailwinds from RERA, stronger disclosure and escrow discipline, and improving resolution mechanisms have enhanced transparency and reduced execution risk, while demand remains underpinned by a structural housing deficit, premiumization trends, steady office and retail leasing in major markets and ever-rising Industrial Warehousing, Logistics & Data Centre demand.
